Web3 growth has introduced many upsides for devs, builders and founders — remote work, global opportunities — but those perks also come with new employment complications, such as setting up crypto payroll, token grant agreements, restricted token units, and taxes, to name a few. Toku, a token compensation platform for Web3 employment and a startup in the Protocol Labs innovation network, was created to provide solutions to these challenges.
Dominika Stobiecka, who co-founded Toku with Ken O'Friel, believes that people should be able to work on "whatever you want, wherever you want." It's a belief that comes from a well-traveled life, which gave her with firsthand experience of the need for the support that Toku provides global teams and workforces. Toku works with leading orgs in Web3, like Protocol Labs, Gnosis and PleasrDAO, with a multi-product offering, from Web3 payroll to token grant administration and more. In this interview, Stobiecka talks about her background and her work, and offers advice for aspiring Web3 founders.
